So here we are, another fall. The year is flying by so quickly. Its had its highs and lows, but overall I can say I've learned a lot and have grown so much. Rewinding a bit, I had an incredibly nature filled summer after my Spring Season with ABT at the Met. After a couple shows with my friend Gemma Bond at the Joyce Theater, I was off to Vail Colorado, and Sun Valley Idaho, both of which were beautiful and picturesque. Once the performances came to a close, I spent two weeks on a break in California with my love, and I'm currently back to rehearsals at the ABT studios for my Fall Season performances at Lincoln Center. The opening is right around the corner, and I have a full list of ballets that I'm really excited to dance. A new creation by Alexei Ratmansky titled "Songs of Bukovina" set to a series of preludes by composer Leonid Desyatnikov, the return of Alexei Ratmansky's "Serenade After Plato's Symposium", I'll reprise my roles in Frederick Ashton's "Symphonic Variations" and Jessica Lang's "Her Notes", and join the first cast in Benjamin Millepied's "Daphnis and Chloe".
I'm thrilled to be back on stage here in New York. From the moment the first curtain rises on the season to the final bow, it'll be really special to be out there doing what I love, and what makes me feel the most free. A feeling I'll get to experience night after night as I share with the world the gift of dance. I hope you'll join me! Casting and ticket info are in the CALENDAR section of the site. See you there! xCalvin
